Earth Day Give-a-way #4! Purple Light Flow Day Pad

Win a FREE purple minky (second due to not perfect top stitching) light flow day pad.

This give-a-way is going to be based on the honor system.  Since today is Earth Day I really want to make a difference.  To enter this time I want you to commit to picking up 1 piece of garbage (or recycling) you see laying around outside this next week.  It doesn't have to be right now since you are probably inside and may not easily see some but I want you to post saying that you will pick up the next piece of litter you see (and then do it!).  Tree Hugger has an amazing 2780 Facebook fans.  I know not everyone sees my status updates but wouldn't it be amazing if every one of those fans could pick up just one piece of litter?  One piece may not sound like a lot but 2780 sure is!  Please think of Tree Hugger the next time you are outside and follow through with this request.  We only have one earth so let's take care of it.  I am already SO proud of how much garbage we have prevented from going to the landfills by our use of cloth pads but let's make sure the garbage that is out there at least gets to where it needs to be.

The winner will be drawn on Tuesday morning.

  1. I promise! And my mother always told me that a broken promise is the same as a lie so you can count on me!! Besides I always have doggie poop bags so it will be easy to grab something while we are all out. Great challenge idea!

  5. Crystal, what a great idea! We really could be so good to this planet if each person did his/her part in taking care of it. I promise I will pick up the next litter I see!

  6. My family of 6 was outside this afternoon clean up our yard as almost all of our snow has melted (the joys of living in northern Canada is that snow still comes in late April :( )We picked up all the garbage that was laying around...some unfortunately ours and some other peoples. It felt good to do some spring cleaning of our yard!! But I will promise to pick up some more garbage this week!!

  8. Funny story. Last week on my daily jog I picked up two milk jugs from the street and jogged them home to place them in the recycling probably from the tornado-like weather the weekend before. I will try to find more this week. Great Idea!

  13. I promise to pick up a piece of trash! It is not too hard of a promise as we live near a gas station and many people throw out their cups and cans on our lawn. We are forever taking care of their mess. This is a great idea! Thank you.

  19. Definitely!!! DD is so good at this, she makes me so proud. We are going to be heading for a walk later and I'm sure we'll find some trash laying around.

  20. I promise! I actually did earlier today! We live in an apartment and most people tend to throw any and everything on the ground be it in the hallway or outside. My husband and I try to pick up what we can in and around our building because our apartment manager has to do it all herself. With 30 buildings it takes her quite awhile to cover all the grounds.

  21. Will do! My student's and I tend to do this daily. Everytime we go on the playground we find trash! Either from other kids coming for sports games or the middle schoolers who eat their snack on the playground! But it is disgusting and my students and I always take the first few minutes of our outside time to find at least one piece of trash each.

  23. I promise to do my part. I usually do anyway, but I have a bunch to clean out that was left by some workers. Upset they didn't clean up after themselves, but I'd rather do it and get it done than sit there looking at it while I wait for them to do it.

  24. Done. I was sitting out on my porch, on this very windy day, and a milk jug was tumbling down the street…it is now in my recycling bin :) Happy Earth Day!

  25. Once the rain stops and I can go outside again, I promise to pick up whatever I see laying around :) Thanks for all these chances to win!

  26. I definitely promise...and this is an easy commitment since I pick up garbage anyway...so I will up the challenge for myself to at least three pieces a day for a week! Thanks for the inspiration, and for the chance to win :)

  27. Unfortunately I have lots of occasions to pick up litter (I think some people around here in Italy actually think they are supposed to throw things on the ground so that the street-cleaners can keep their jobs)! For your creative contest, I promise to pick up EVERY piece of litter I see today (I generally do anyway, because being from Oregon I just can't let litter stay on the ground). Thanks for the good idea!

  28. My promise from me to you:) Actually I just did it this morning. It is garbage day and an animal got into most of my neighbors and not to mention my garbage through the night so it was EVERYWHERE!!

  29. Yes, I will do this. We recycle cans for sure. And with kids around I can always find some garbage to throw away.

  30. I'll do it! Shouldn't be hard either since we live on a busy street and people seem to think my yard is their trash can!

  34. I promise to pick up the next piece of litter I see! It is amazing to think that one person picking up one piece of trash may not be that much, but if thousands of people do it, it can make an amazing difference. It's kind of like the Great Cloth Diaper Change...my husband commented that us doing cloth doesn't seem like much, but when he saw all the people there changing diapers, it really made him realize how much of a difference if everyone just changed into one cloth diaper a day would do.

  35. I promise to pick up one piece of litter. It will make for a great outing with the kids. I can teach them the importance of keeping our Earth clean.

  36. We just cleaned up a big bag full of litter that got scattered around the yard yesterday. I'm constantly picking up things I see laying around. I don't get why people can't walk a few extra feet and find a trash can!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I can definitely do that!
